History

Kontek has been founded in 1984, and since the beginning the company manufactured custom connectors for small and medium size companies. The company soon established itself thanks to the ability to fit the production following the specifications given by customers.

In 1999 Kontek get into the Laserline group, that gathers important Italian companies active in different markets.

In 2000 Kontek acquired the modular connectors branch of Proner Comatel, a French company with a strong specialization and know-how in the connection field.

Since its foundation, Kontek Comatel has continued to perfect its services, directing its resources towards developing the necessary flexibility needed to produce "made-to-misure" connectors according to Customers' requirements.

The Company places the highest priority on the Customers' own success, and has won their trust by offering a wide range of products in the field of modular connectors such as: male and female connectors, bridges, card-to-card connectors, card-to-cable connectors, screw terminals and custom-made connectors.

In January 2008 a new business unit has been launched, the Kontek Comatel Identification Division. With the new business unit Kontek Comatel enters in the RFID market.
